A Fragrant Memory Lane

It is amazing, but true.  Precious memories can be stirred at the smell of a lovely scent.  Youth Dew by Estee Lauder reminds a young lady I know of her grandmother.  When she smells Chloe by Narcisse, she has special memories of her sister and the early 1990’s. 
When a special fragrance brings someone to my mind, I often think of an old hymn called Precious Memories - How they linger.

As my young friend was excitedly sharing her memories of her relatives and the fragrances they loved to wear, my own mind was flooded with thoughts of many fragrances of the past that are now on the hard-to-find list since the higher priced “designer” fragrances came on the scene.

How can we ever forget the refreshing after-bath Jean Nate Splash?  Not only was the body soft to the touch because of the moisturizers, but the scent had a cool-breeze freshness.  The fragrance that really brings pleasant memories is Wind Song.  It is indeed a love song from the 1960’s.   If you know the smell of honeysuckle, many of the old timers will surely remember the honeysuckle scent of White Shoulders cologne.  It was designed in France in 1932 and over the years, it became very popular with the ladies of the U.S.

I know a song which includes the words “Joy cometh in the morning”.  Joy, originally introduced in France in the early 1930’s by Jean Patou, still brings joy to the ladies who truly seek it.  My research shows that it takes thousands of flowers to produce just one ounce of this great fragrance.

There are also a couple of “seek and you shall find” fragrances for men that were very popular in their day.  Jade East Cologne from the 1960’s and No. 4711 Cologne which is more than 200 years old.

If you want to stand out from the crowd, be well dressed, feel good about yourself, have your own special identity, and be remembered after you have left the scene, you need the designer fragrances.  The benefits you receive from a 100% authentic designer fragrance is worth the price you pay. 

For the lady who has not yet made that all important fragrance decision I recommend
Angel by Thierry Mugler, one of today’s top sellers.  For the man who is still deciding what he should wear, I suggest Cool Water by Davidoff, another current top seller.  It is the “cool” thing to do.  You will love the way you smell.
